Project Overview
The Jenny Craig Pavilion is a 101,000-square-foot multi-purpose arena that seats 5,100 and provides a home for the Toreros men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and intramural and recreational sports teams.
Named after its benefactor and located on a three-acre site, the Pavilion features both fixed and retractable seats in 24 tiers descending from the concourse level, where a 5,000-square-foot lobby and two concession areas are located. Coaches’ offices, locker rooms, a sports medicine facility, a fitness center, and a laundry facility are all located on the arena level. A VIP suite with kitchen facilities are located above the concourse level overlooking the playing court and provide views of the USD campus and Mission Bay.
51¹ú²úÊÓƵ’s own crews placed more than 5,000 yards of concrete for the project. At one point during construction, the project had three cranes working concurrently to set a total of five 220-foot span trusses. The project, which is adorned by architectural precast, complements the USD campus’ 16th-century Spanish Renaissance architecture.
