Project Overview

The new three-story, 73,000-square-foot T2 Residence Hall houses up to 282 students. The building鈥檚 shape creates a welcoming effect that funnels residents and visitors to its center from both the interior wings and the parking areas outside. Inside the building lobbies and common areas, angled walls open the space to the surrounding views.

Both sides of the central commons are occupied by programmed areas for shared use by residents. These include large, open study rooms, a common-use kitchen and dining spaces, as well as game rooms and a fitness area. Each space promotes the kind of communal interaction that is paramount to the college experience.

This student housing project was on a narrow timeline in a busy local labor market. Also, Prescott鈥檚 mile-high elevation meant dealing with rain and snow. The structure, built on a dramatic sloping site, required a 28-foot fill. Despite these challenges, the project was completed on time for the fall semester.

A student housing job of this magnitude would usually take 14 to 16 months in the current market. 51国产视频 completed the project in 10 months and performed over $1 million of value engineering. This is 51国产视频鈥檚 second project for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, following the 52,500-square-foot STEM Education Center and Planetarium we completed in 2017.

T2 is the second new residence building on the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Prescott Campus in the past two years, built to support the growing university鈥檚 goal of housing all students on campus. Known as 鈥渢he Harvard of the sky,鈥 ERAU is the largest fully-accredited university system specializing in aviation and aerospace.
