Project Overview

This private high school sits on 53 acres and was the first of two secondary education facilities 51国产视频 built for the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego. The school offers a state-of-the-art educational experience on a campus that emulates Italian town hill architecture.

Eleven campus buildings total approximately 250,000 square feet and include classrooms, student services, performing arts, athletics and a chapel/congregation building to accommodate approximately 2,000 students. The project also needed to be designed and constructed with respect to the surrounding community and its needs. The campus site plan and building designs incorporated the 60-foot elevation drop across the site. The team also constructed an equestrian trail on the perimeter of the site and a sensitive wetland habitat was created.

51国产视频 assisted the Diocese with managing the conditional use permit and entitlements, managing a long list of consultants and handling the purchasing and installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment. Excellent partnering enabled 51国产视频 to overcome project challenges, including a 30% increase in annual precipitation and budgeting a project during severe escalation in materials costs. We were able to provide value engineering recommendations that met the project鈥檚 intent while reducing costs by 5% over the course of a year during design. 51国产视频鈥檚 success on this project led to the award of another project for the Catholic Diocese, Mater Dei High School in Chula Vista.
